Travel to Green Island Resort
Check-in at the Reef Fleet Terminal Green Island Resort counter ready for your ferry departure. Your luggage will be transferred directly to your resort room. You will be greeted by the Island concierge on arrival. After check-in you are more than welcome to explore the island and take part in the numerous activities.
Accommodation
Green Island Resort has two styles of accommodation: Reef Suites and Island Suites. All suites are set in clusters under the rainforest canopy and adjoin to the central facilities via raised covered walkways. They are cleverly secluded from the remainder of the island and day visitor facilities..
Reef Suite
The Reef Suites are perfect for honeymoons and special occasions. These split-level luxury suites have a large king size bed, spacious lounge area, separate bath, shower and private balcony.
Island Suite
The Island Suites consist of a spacious guestroom with either twin (double/double) or king bed. Some rooms can be interconnecting or adjoining for families. All rooms have separate showers and bath and a private balcony.

Disabled Room - located close to the reception and restaurant with wider doorways and ramp entry. Bedding is two double beds. There are hand rails in bath and toilet areas, and a fold-up chair in shower. Please enquire for further details.

At 5pm after the day visitors have left enjoy sunset drinks at the jetty with a choice of sparkling wine, beers or orange juice. Fish feeding takes place from the jetty where you will see many tropical fish and a turtle or two if you're lucky!
Relax and Explore Green Island
Green Island is the only coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef with a rainforest growing on it, which is home to 126 native plant species, colourful birdlife, surrounded by magnificent coral gardens and is some 15 hectares (approx 37 acres) in size.

During the day guests can choose from a range of delicious and affordable meal and snack options from Green Island?s restaurant and food outlets (at own cost). The resort also offers Island guests special dining packages such as Picnics and Beach Dining options.

- Aussie Buffet: This delicious hot and cold buffet is served from the Canopy Grill. (Lunch)

Wonderful location
Wonderful location, best place to snorkel, great staff. Nice room v comfy great air con. A little tired, but the location is so wonderful i would have stayed in a grass hut.
Probably more food options would be ideal, however the food we had was great. Absolutely great staff who were helpful. Once things pick up hopefully, an option for food other than burgers and big mains would be ideal.

What a great place to stay. Facilities were good and staff very friendly. Trips to outer reef is a must. Feeding the fish and glass bottom boat tour on the Island was excellent. Breakfast was included with plenty of choice. Lunch and dinner menu was very good. Cleaning staff are friendly and do a great job. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful little island
We had 3 nights on this beautiful little island near the end of our holiday in Australia. The staff, room, and food were superb, and the snorkelling, fish-feeding, marine park and evening walks were great fun. The island is quite busy during the day and the lunchtime options are not great. Although it is quite expensive to stay in the resort, it is so lovely when the last of the day-trippers depart at 4.30 and then you feel that you have your own private island. So spend the extra and make sure that you have at least one night there! Also, try a massage there - my wife and I both had a neck, shoulder and back massage and left feeling wonderfully relaxed.

Highlight of the trip. If I had to do it over again, I would have done the scuba excursion from cairns, and simply enjoyed the Island. the snorkeling was wonderful. After 4:30, when the last boat has left, the Island is private, serene. Incredible place to connect with people and nature.

Yes there are day trippers but there is also great opportunities to be alone on the island and the day trippers ensure the facilities are of a high standard and costs are kept down for everyone to enjoy. Service on the Island was amazing. Plenty of activities, most of which were included for resort guest.
Garden Room was beautiful! Great bath and facilities. Reasonably priced mini bar - very nice bottle of red wine.
The Outer Barrier Reef Cruise was fantastic, even with the bad weather we got that day.
A slightly cheaper dinner alternative on the Island would be our only suggestion.
We will definitely stay here again!

Loved the nature walks
We arrived to find our room ready and that we had been upgraded. The location shows a bit of suffering from the weather, but the rooms themselves were so clean and well set up. We loved the spot. We were able to avoid the crowds during the day and loved the nature walks with the guides. The only negative was our fire alarm went off at five am and it took an hour to turn it off. This is due to the heavy rain that night. We enjoyed the food, but were unimpressed with the wait staff. They were ....less,than friendly and did not provide good service. Julian at the front desk was very helpful, the ladies at the massage, Sid at the beach rental, and Robb and Tony with the nature walks were all friendly, knowledgable and helpful.

A world class facility
The resort is a world class facility. We enjoyed the combination of day visitors and privacy and peace and quiet after the island is closed off to visitors. Snorkelling in the private beach was far better than the day trip on the reef. We saw more fish and turtles than any where else. We would certainly be back.

You are made to feel special
From the moment you check in at the ferry port you are made to feel special, as resort guests. The island is beautiful, especially when the day visitors have gone, and it is so relaxing to enjoy a sunset drink by the jetty. The highlight of our stay was the trip to the Great Barrier Reef. We had never snorkeled before but thoroughly enjoyed the experience-it was much easier than I thought. Room service was excellent value and delicious. The staff were all great.

We loved every minute of our 3 nights stay in Green Island Resort using Travstar .com package. Snorkeled all day. The water was warm and clear. We saw a lot of turtles, rays, corals and big and small fish. The service and facility are excellent. To appreciate what the island can offer, you have to stay there. We would love to go back there near future.

Up there with the best!
Um, way better than we were expecting - in fact right up there with the best family resorts anywhere! It was quite easy to avoid the throngs of day trippers and fantastic to snorkel or explore at any time. The rooms were spot-on and quite private and well appointed.
Staff were fantastic and the almost all-inclusive deal was terrific (no need to take your wallet out). The dining at Emeralds Restaurant and the friendliness and efficiency of the wait staff was brilliant! We are seriously missing the fantastic meals and the to-die-for desserts!
The dive shop staff were on the ball, friendly and helpful. We were fortunate to do an intro scuba dive, to snorkel with green turtles and reef sharks. The Outer Reef (Moore Reef)was excellent - equal to the best snorkelling we have ever done. Despite the large no. of people on the boat it was relatively uncrowded on the reef, and we met up close the large Maori Wrasse, and hovered over cleaner fish stations (with fish queuing up to be cleaned) and dove down into the canyons. The variety of corals and fish was amazing and most fish were unphased by our presence.
The rainforest on Green Island and its unique wildlife was also cool, including the guided night walk and fish feeding. Marineland Melanesia was a surprise - whilst small the crocs were really up-close, the art and museum pieces impressive and the stories that each of the family members shared priceless. We seriously wish we were still there.

We thought the upgrade to a Reef Suite was definitely worth the money, but they only had king beds, and we needed two beds. The staff was terrific and brought in a rollaway. The only other comment was that it was hard to read by 60W light bulbs!!

One night we saw 15 turtles!
Green Island accomadation is great the rooms are great Tv movies to relax .dining is great.On arriving at 4.30pm was just before fish feeding on the jetty watching turtles and fish swimming around. great photos. at 5.30 free champayne beer wine to watch the sunset every afternoon. at 8 pm a walk on the beach or the jetty to see the turles and big fish reflexion in the water, I was there 3 nights and one night we saw 15 turtles all sizes around the jetty and at ankle level of the beach. then at 9pm a nature walk around the Island to see the wild life. the next day on the beach to snorkle FREE snorkle gear free bug suits FREE BEACH UMBRELLAS AND LOUNGES. doesnt sound like much but resort guests and visitors all snorkle and it means the LESS you need to take away with you. got great photos.

We had a fantastic time, the service from all the staff were excellent they treated you like you were the only one there even though you were not. The rooms are a great size and very clean. The resort itself needs some work but this did not detract from our stay. We would go back there in heartbeat. The staff at Travstar were fantastic and could not do enough for me, Chanelle understood my situation and could not do enough for me. She was a gem through the whole process. Again thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Overall an unforgettable holiday
The island is amazing and so quiet after the day visitors leave. It was great being able to snorkel straight from the beach. The rooms were good but the bed was a little uncomfortable for the back. Food was great however expensive and the other eating options on the island close early in the day so room service dinner was a cheaper option. Front desk service was excellent. They were always more than happy to forfill our strange requests for phone chargers in the middle of the night. Some cleaning staff were a little unprofessional and waiting for our room to be made up was disappointing. Sunset drinks and fish feeding was great and the dive shop staff were excellent. Overall an unforgettable holiday. Will definatley come back again.

We have 3 days stay in Green Island. the staffs in the island are very friendly, we tried seawalker, parasailing and snorkelling in the island; and the other day spent in GBR. we saw many fishes and even seaturtles underwater. we enjoyed our days there. We hope the Resort could provide different varieties food during the dinner, cos currently there is only one western food resturant.

Only really expensive because the kids had to have their own room, room sizes would be perfectly fine with 16 yr olds and under sharing room with parents.Shame there was brown slime pollution that hit the island on the last day not tempting to swim in it some staff saying it was the coral spawning !! some said it was algae it would be nice to think someone in Queensland is monitoring it as it looked decidely pollution like to me .

we really enjoyed our holiday
we really enjoyed our holiday on Green Is, we were there 22 years ago and a perfect day this time we had 5 perfect days the weather was great, we feed the fish most nights, snorkelled a couple of times each day and really enjoyed the trip to the outer reef which was our first trip out there. We went out on the glass bottom boat several times and down the underwater observatory both at night and day. Enjoyed the room which was up amoungst the trees and went back to see the crocodiles too.

My partner proposed on the second last day so we will always have fond memories of the paradise on Green Island. Green Island is a gem. We had perfect weather and spent 4 days walking, snorkelling and just hanging over the railings on the jetty spotting all the different tropical fish - even saw two large turtles swimming by. I would happily recommend it to anyone - and fully intend to come back myself.

Plenty of time to rest and relax
We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights on the island. The \\\"day trippers\\\" kept to one side of the island so even during the day you could find a quiet spot and once the last boat had left in the afternoon you had the whole place to yourself and the other guests. I would thoroughly recommend Green Island - it has enough rainforest to wander through and beach to walk around to get the experience without feeling you have to go on a massive hike each day to see everything leaving plenty of time to rest and relax!

Staff were excellent, rooms clean
Very busy island during the day - due to hundreds of day trippers - probably not the place if you wanted a quiet get away otherwise staff were excellent, rooms clean. Restaurant needs to incorporate lighter choices for dinner menu in particular if you are travelling with teenagers or children.

About Travstar Booking Requests
There are some things a computer can't do.
We love helping people plan their holidays and we want to make sure we get it right.
Some holiday packages can be quite complicated with multiple tours and accommodation, pick-up times and extras.
That's why every booking made through a Travstar Website is checked by our local consultants.
It takes a little bit longer to get your tickets but we want to make sure everything is going to run smoothly for you.
How long wil it take to get my tickets?
Our team are alerted to new booking requests as they come in. During office hours you can expect to have your tickets within an hour or two.
After office hours your tickets may take up to 12 hours to arrive.
